Finding myself at a state level across swimming, cross country and athletics all through school I was sure I was going to do something along the lines of a sporting career. At the age of 12 I found myself competing at Nationals for Triathlon after having started the sport only a few months prior. This continued throughout my high school years and my love and dedication for the sport grew. I progressed through the ranks of junior triathlon and secured my Professional Licence in 2012 at the age of 18.
I graduated high school with a keen interest in sports and teaching and was accepted into Wollongong University for a PDHPE degree. My first year at University I had the privilege of training with the AIS Triathlon squad, and I was given the opportunity to spend 3 months in Europe training with them and racing for a French team. It wasn't until I did my first non-drafting race, I really found my niche in the sport.
I made a name for myself early being competitive with some of the best professionals at such a young age. I utilised my strengths in the sport and found myself leading out of the water, posting the fastest bike splits and breaking the odd bike course record. With these strengths I was honoured to be supported by some of the industry leading companies. I was riding for Cervelo, Sram/Zipp, Giro, ISM and Oakley. Xterra and Zoggs covered my swim gear and Gatorade Endurance fuelled me.
I was racing half Ironman's in 2015 and quickly progressed at this discipline. I spent the summer in Boulder, CO and travelled interstate racing some of the biggest names in triathlon. I returned to Australia and had a stellar run of races. I finished 2nd at the Mandurah 70.3 and then another 2nd at Western Sydney 70.3 at the end of 2015. February 2016 saw me take the win at the Australian National Championships at Geelong 70.3. After spending another summer in the US I returned home having qualified for the 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championships, ranked 12th in the world and the youngest competitor at the age of 22 years old.
Unfortunately, I was involved in a serious accident just the day before the World Championships and never made the start line.
